Unfortunately due to global challenges in the conference sector, we have made the decision to cancel the inaugural Latin American Oncology Summit (LAOS) 2011. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Building capacity, knowledge, and multidisciplinary care: for today, for tomorrow
Dr David Collingridge
Chair, Latin American Oncology Summit 2011
Editor, The Lancet Oncology
The Latin American Oncology Summit will define the latest clinical needs for oncologists in central and southern America and will offer an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and thoughts that will help inform clinical practice. We believe this conference will offer a rare opportunity for oncologists in Latin America to come together in an easily accessible location for interaction with regional opinion leaders and key oncologists from around the world. We hope the mix of speakers will facilitate an authoritative discussion of the local challenges and offer an opportunity to develop a consensus on the most appropriate treatment regimens and interventions needed to tackle the growing cancer burden in Latin America.
The Summit will cover the following areas:
• Haematological oncology
• Women’s health
• Gastrointestinal cancer
• Lung cancer
• Head and neck cancer
• Genitourinary cancer
• Radiation oncology
• Palliative oncology
• Access to medicines and health-care systems
• Capacity building
I hope you will share in our enthusiasm for this event and we look forward to your participation in the first Latin American Oncology Summit.
